I teach Filipino Kali and Pentjak Silat (Self Defense and Martial Arts). I am a firm believer in practice makes perfect, but more important what and how you practice.

For Example, if a boy studies cooking most of his life and masters french cuisine, then put him in a mechanic uniform and tell him to overhaul a diesel engine, he'll most likely fail in his attempt; similarly if a student studies and masters a certain style or sport, that is his expertise and in another arena he would be a novice at best.

I teach Guerrilla Style Tactics of hand to hand combat, Blade and Gun defense . From empty hands (unarmed combat) to armed combat, it's all based on the idea that the enemy is armed and out to kill you. Straight to the point, no nonsense. I have two ranks, red and black. Red means you know and Black means you understand. That's all you need.

All that matters in the end is that the student learns what he/she has to do to go home at the end of the day.
